Sewing Classes

Dear Sewing Friends;

Spring is here finally, and just how the season starts off nice and fresh, so is our line up of sewing classes.  We saw some amazing projects come out of the class room this winter with so many new faces as well as our amazing returning students.  Teaching ladies like yourself is our passion as educators, and we are always thrilled at your successes.
The winter season was a great one!  We were sold out of most classes and we look forward to many great new projects this spring and some repeats as well to catch many of you that missed a spot in the winter.

We are blessed to have Liz Dicrescenzo back for the Spring season.  She is an enormously talented sewer, quilter and bag maker.  She will be adding several new projects this Spring.  Welcome back Liz, we are so happy to have you on board.
Francine is also back with new and exciting sewing classes for adult and kids. She does an amazing job and truly loves what she does. She will also be working on the Kids sewing camps for the summer holidays and dates will be announced soon so stay tuned.
I will also be back with some new embroidery and serging classes so I look forward to seeing you all in the classroom.
 You can drop by the store or call in your registrations over the phone.  Hope to see you in the class room!
Happy Sewing,
Liz

Meet the Teachers:

 Liz Badiuk

Sewing has been a huge part of my life since I was 16 years old. In 1983, I went into the sewing business and never looked back.  I have been teaching since 1988 and have found it to be the most rewarding part of my job.  The last fifteen years of my teaching career, I have really branched out, obtaining many certifications and training throughout Canada and the US.  I have obtained my Serger Heirloom certification, Omni Grid Certification, as well; I have trained with some of the top sewing celebrities such as Nancy Zieman, Martha Pullen, Eleanor Burns and the most amazing education team from the Babylock Sewing Machine Company.  Training at this facility is top notch and allows me to bring back some of the best sewing techniques ever.  This year, I am proud to say that I have been a part of the sewing industry for 33 years buying, selling, and teaching.  I love to make the class room fun and can guarantee to teach you something new with each class. I teach all genres of sewing but my specialty is in Serging, Embroidery and Apparel Wear.

 Francine De Meyer

Francine’s first love is fabric. She learned to sew as a young teen and also learned other hand crafts such as embroidery, needlepoint and crochet.   During the late 1980’s, she took design and textile courses at Ontario College of Art and continued to pursue learning new sewing techniques by attending the Creative Festival in Toronto over a period of 15 years.  Now she would like to share her knowledge with others. She hopes to make sewing fun for everyone.

Liz Dicrescenzo

I began sewing when I was 12 years old and have never stopped. Over the years I have taken many courses and when I retired from teaching high school, I got interested in (maybe fascinated with might be a better word) quilting and bag/purse making. I am a member of our local quilt guild and have taught a couple of workshops for them.  Doing the workshops reminded me how much I enjoy teaching and sharing what I have learned.
